1098. Michael Thorne was born on 1 Sep 1792 in Marlboro, NJ. He died WFT Est. 1825-1883 in Indiana (?). He resided in Indiana. Michael Thorne grew up with John Bowne (descendant of John & Hannah). Together they were apprentices as hatters under Samuel Stillwell & worked the trade fore a time. By 1820, Michael moved west, probably with Ebenezer Emmons & several other nearby families. Ebenezer settled briefly in western Ohio, but returned to H.J. shortly after 1820. In 1830, Michael was in Franklin Co., Indiana. No other records have been found regarding Michael Thorne. He is believed to have died in Indiana. Family tradition suggests that he married an indian.
