606. Richard Mickle Thorne was born on 12 Oct 1811 in Gloucester Co, NJ. He died on 13 Sep 1880 in Richmond, VA. He died of consumption. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond, VA. Philip V. Thorne Notes:

It's not yet clear where the named Mickle comes, Richard Mickle Thorne's father is Isaac, he has a brother Thomas, with a dtr Mary Ann Thorne; Mary Ann Thorn married William Mickle Paul III; so somewhere in New Jersey we will find some Thorn/Paul/Mickle marriages!

Richard Mickle Thorne was resident in Richmond, Virgina, prior to the outbreak of hostilities, between the North & South. He was said by descendants to have been a very tender hearted man. Confederate soldiers arrived one day & comandeered several of his best horses. Apparently he had a tremendous sentimental attachment to these horses, as he is said to have wept over their forced departure, not from a monetary sense but an emotional one.

He was married to Rebecca Stiles on 25 Dec 1846 in New Jersey?. Rebecca Stiles was born on 27 Dec 1810 in New Jersey. She died on 25 May 1884 in Richmond, VA. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond, VA. Richard Mickle Thorne and Rebecca Stiles had the following children:
