2176. Josiah Quimby Brown was born in 1825. He died in 1909 in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY. This year of death is from Harold Campbell, but can,t be right as Jonathan THORNE, at his death arranged for Guardianship of the Children with John B Gerow, a Nephew in Plattekill, NY. He was buried in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY.

He was married to Roseanna Rider Thorn (daughter of Jonathan Thorn and Charity C. Rider) on 21 Feb 1854. This 2nd Marriage. ist wife Cornelia died 1830. 1 CHILD Roseanna. Per Harold Campbell marriage date was 1 May 1834 Roseanna Rider Thorn was born on 8 Aug 1837 in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY. She died on 5 Jul 1861 in New York City, NY. She was buried in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY. Buried Cornwall Friends Cemetery Philip V. Thorne Notes:

We recently discovered She did live marry & had 2 kids. We found them in Jonathan & Charity's wills. Both she & her Husband a Brown preceded the parents in death as their guardianship is described in the wills

In her fathers will of 1867, Both of her children were assigned to a special guardian. He was John B Gerow ESQ of Plattekill, NY. After Roseanna & her husband died they lived with grandfather Jonathan Thorne. I have not yet determined where John B Gerow fits in the Family. But I soon will. Later Note: He was nephew of Jonathan Thorne.

Thomas P Thorne had a brother-in-law {brother to his wife Elizabeth Gerow). There was only one son in this Gerow Family. His name was Daniel & lived in Plattekill. I'll bet He had a son named John Gerow. Thomas P Thorne also lived in Plattekill & any son of that Gerow Family would be his Nephew|

In Oct of 1992 I visited the Cornwall Quaker Cemetery & I found a headstone for Roseanna Brown 1884 to 19?8. This could not be her due to time frame. Probably a Grandtr. Josiah Quimby Brown and Roseanna Rider Thorn had the following children:

He was married to Mary K Roach (daughter of William Penn Roach and Phebe Jane Thorn) on 25 Jun 1845. Name of Husband found in her Father's Will. Mary K Roach was born in 1848. She died in 1918 in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY. She was buried in Cornwall Quaker Cemetery, Cornwall, Orange Co, NY. Josiah Quimby Brown and Mary K Roach had the following children:
