EIGHTH GENERATION

1692. William Van Schoonhoven Thorne was born on 22 Mar 1865. He graduated in 1885 in Yale University. He died in 1920. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery ?. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Yale in 1885. He was Vice President & general manager of the Pennsylvania Coal Company. His primary interest however was in the railroads. He was involved with the Presbyterian Hospital of NY & The Society for the Relief of Orphans & Destitute Children & the Manhatten Maternity Hospital. I have a photo of him & his Father 1896-1899, from King's Notable New Yorkers.

He was also President of the Island RR Co; Vice Pres of Erie & Wyoming Valley RR.

He was married to Julia Therese Keyser on 16 Nov 1905. William Van Schoonhoven Thorne and Julia Therese Keyser had the following children:

2449 i. Samuel Keyser Thorne was born in 1906. He died in 1948.
