1127. Michael Thorn was born on 25 Mar 1790 in New York. He died in 1882 in Berryville, AR. Michael Thorn was a veteran of the War of 1812. He married once and is known to have had at least one son named James. Wife was Sarah, surname not yet known. She was born in Pennsylvannia per 1850 census of Wirt County; this census gives us the names of 4 of his children.

If Michael did, in fact, die in Arkansas, then he may well be the progenitor the large group of Thorn/e's found in Alabama, Arkansas & Mississippi.

He was married to Sarah Knotts on 21 Dec 1815 in Monogalia County, WV. Sarah Knotts was born in 1794 in Pennsylvania. She died in 1865 in Preston County, VA. Michael Thorn and Sarah Knotts had the following children:

1834 i. Thomas Thorn was born in 1822 in Virginia.
1835 ii. Elizabeth Thorn was born in 1830 in Virginia.
1836 iii. Hester Thorn was born in 1832 in Virginia.
