405. Thomas Thorn was born on 11 Sep 1719 in Flushing, Long Island, NY. He died on 12 Sep 1781 in North Castle, Westchester Co, NY. He died at age 62 He was buried about 14 Sep 1781 in Prob a Westchester Co. Quaker burial ground. He is probably buried at North castle MM Quaker burial ground, but many of his descendents are buried at Chappaqua MM burial ground, they set aside a special place for our family. Chappaqua was originally part of Northcastle MM. He had an estate probated on 12 Feb 1785. He was Quaker. His will gave evidence of considerable estate. was elected road overseer twice in Northcastle, NY

Thomas Thorn is the step father to his son Thomas' wife Hannah Sutton. He married as his second wife Elizabeth Brown widow of James Sutton. Sarah Haight was the mother of ALL the children except for last child Sherwood Thorne. This, per Mildred E. Struble of the Hugenot Historical Society, was Thorne family knowledge, which thus far, I've found reliable. Thomas was a member of the Purchase Friends Monthly Meeting. When Thomas was married to first Sarah it was recorded in the Purchase Friends records. So at that point He was a Friend in good standing. Later none of his children by either marriage were birthright Friends. Thomas was a Friend in good standing of the Purchase Monthly Meeting, but for some reason, some of his off spring had to apply to join the Friends, indicating they were not birthright Friends.

Note: Beginning with his Father, Samuel they began dropping the "E" off Thorne.

He was married to Sarah Haight (daughter of John Haight and Phebe Titus) about 1739 in New York. Sarah Haight was born on 6 Mar 1725/26 in Newtown, Nassau, NY. She died after 1762 in North Castle, Westchester Co, NY. She was buried in Friends Cemetery, Westchester CO, New York. Buried probably Armonk-Northcastle-Chappaqua Friends Cemeteries. Sarah is the Mother of all of Thomas' Children EXCEPT the last child, a son named Sherwood. His Mother is the second wife Elizabeth Brown. Thomas Thorn and Sarah Haight had the following children:

He was married to Elizabeth Brown (daughter of Samuel Brown and Hannah Rundle) before 1767. Elizabeth Brown was born on 27 Nov 1724 in New York. She died in New York. Elizabeth Brown was wife no. 2. She was mother to Thomas'last child, son Sherwood. She is believed to be widow of James Sutton and dtr of Hannah Brown. She was the Widow of James Sutton. Thomas Thorn and Elizabeth Brown had the following children:
