4473. Voyle Charles Thorne was born on 27 Jun 1913 in Hayes Twp., York Co., NE. He graduated on 29 May 1934 in NPHS, North Platte, NE. Voyle graduated from North Platte Senior High School in 1934, 2 years late due to illnesses. He died on 4 Jun 1974 in North Platte, NE. Birth place was 7 miles south of North Platte.

He died of a massive coronary, while at work on a new house at Lake Maloney, 7 miles South of North Platte, Lincoln County, Nebraska. He was 60 years, 11 months & 7 days old. He simply hated doctors & had not had a thorough physical since he had gone to work for Douglas Aircraft, during WWII. He was buried on 7 Jun 1974 in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, North Platte, Lincoln Co, NE. Music was his life. Eleanor asked the Musician's Union to provide Pallbearers. Most were lifelong friends. BIOGRAPHY: Voyle was an accomplished musician, tenor sax, clarinet, vibraphones and guitar. Lifetime member Musicians Union. Very talented home builder. As father and husband he was superb. Heart attack.

He was married to Eleanor Ingeborg Rosenberg (daughter of Nis Christian Rosenberg II and Dora Matilda Anderson) on 23 Feb 1936 in North Platte, Lincoln County, NE. Eleanor Ingeborg Rosenberg was born on 12 Dec 1914 in Wild Horse Valley, Lincoln County, NE. Born at home. Devout Lutheran. She has no birth cert as doctor that was to deliver her got drunk & didn't make it thru the blizzard in time. She was confirmed in 1929 in First Lutheran Church North Platte, NE. She graduated on 27 May 1932 in NPHS, North Platte, NE. She died on 13 Jul 1993 in North Platte, Lincoln County, NE. 78 yrs 7 mos 1 day of age. Cause of death was congestive heart failure due to emphysema & chronic pneumonia. Eleanor was a smoker. She was buried on 17 Jul 1993 in North Platte, Lincoln County, NE. Buried Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, North Platte, NE. PALLBEARERS: Dan Brauer, Darren Herstedt, Richard A. Pratt, Merrill V.C. Taylor, Erik Thorne, & Sean Thorne. Services conducted by Pastor Glen Thomas, First Lutheran Church North Platte, NE. Brand new seminary graduate. He had been on his new assignment just 2 days & this was his 1st funeral. BIOGRAPHY: As children Vivian & Eleanor spoke Swedish as that was their mom's native language. Eleanor & Voyle's address at birth of Philip was 11953 Goshen Ave, West Los Angeles, California. My Mom told me today 10 June 1993 that she had always spelled her middle name with an E but that it is properly spelled Ingeborg, Her parent's had named her after a Danish Princess. We have subsequently learned that her grand mom was named Ingeborg Catherine Schmidt-Rosenberg.

I have much to say & write about my Mom, but every time I attempt to do it, the feelings get just a bit too heavy.....Hope to do it in time, as she was ONE of a kind; stubborn, absolutely unforgiving, she had high expectations of herself & those around her. She held very deep feelings & convictions, but kept them close to home & never evidenced them. Witty & humorous but very tough at the same time. For a Nebraska housewife, she was one of the best informed & well read people I've ever known. There was little that she didn't have some knowledge on. She was very adept at languages, history, literature & politics. In todays world she would have been very successful in home & business.

My sister & I were luck to have had her. Voyle Charles Thorne and Eleanor Ingeborg Rosenberg had the following children:
