676. Elnathan Thorn was born on 25 Dec 1745 in Westchester County, NY. He was buried in Aug 1788 in Chappaqua, Westchester Co, NY. He is buried in the Friend's Cemetery behind the Chappaqua Friends Meeting House, Westchester Co., NY. My Wife Marlene & I visited this cemetery in Oct 1992 & saw his Headstone. He died on 9 Aug 1788 in Chappaqua, Westchester Co, NY. I have page from Book 4 Jamaica, LI, NY. Library NYG&B showing his Birth yr as 1748 & yr of Death as 1818 He had an estate probated on 6 Jan 1789 in Westchester County, NY. His will, proved on 6 Jan 1789, mentions five sons and daughters plus Purchase Friends Records list two more dying young. Elnathan was a successful blacksmith in Chappaqua, NY. He derived his cash income from shipping surplus goods from Sing Sing, via sloop on the Hudson River, to the New York market.

He was married to Martha Jane Weeks (daughter of Abel Weeks and Mary Ireland) on 15 Mar 1770 in North Castle, Westchester Co, NY. Martha Jane Weeks was born on 22 Apr 1750 in New York. She died in New York. Elnathan Thorn and Martha Jane Weeks had the following children:
