TWELFTH GENERATION5040. Richard Van Thorn
. I grew up in Red River Valley just five or six miles from the Red River
in a little town called Denison, Tx... There was a more notable man than myself
that was borne there by the name of Dwight Eisenhower remember him? Denison
was a great little town especially if you like to swim and fish because Lake
Texoma was there. I spent many summer days swimming on the Oklahoma side at Burns
Run. On the way home I would let my swimming trunks dry out by hanging them on
my radio antenna as I drove. Weekends were great too. Most of the young people
would drag up and down main street. Once a month at the Realto theater they had
what was known as the midnight preview in which they would show a preview of
the show that was to be played for the next month. It was about two AM when the
preview let out and the kids would go to the Eat Well cafe to eat before calling
it a night. There were things to do for the young people on the weekend and I
think it kept them out of trouble.. I was an exception. I had a motor scooter
and gave the police a hard time:-) To CHAT below just pick a nick-name with a
