2464. Martin Chamberlain Thorn was born on 23 Jan 1844. He died on 2 Feb 1890. Enlisted in the Signal College Corp, 17th Infantry, Michigan Vols. at the commencement of the Civil War, and was mustered out at Washington at the close of the war. He fought in twenty-three battles including Antitam and The Wilderness and was with SHERMAN'S army in the march to the sea. After the war he moved to TEXAS.

Martin died while chopping wood at the woodpile. His wife, Amanda found him.

He was married to Amanda Ann Gartrell on 4 Dec 1871 in Denton, TX. Amanda Ann Gartrell was born on 25 Nov 1854 in Pike County, MO. She died on 8 May 1929. Martin Chamberlain Thorn and Amanda Ann Gartrell had the following children:
